Work:
Conservative restoration - building in Diano Marina (IM), via Cesare Battisti 9-13

Owners:
Luigi Cavallari and Virginia Emilia Castellan

Project:
Geom. Marco Bernardini

before the works The building is an ancient typical Liguria house, in Diano Marina (IM) downtown: lucky it escaped the wild concretization of '60.
As we discover after an accurate iconographic research, the building had the present consistence still early 1900.
Particularly it was evident a window on the south facade, first floor, closed during next years.

Before the works the building, even having robust stone walls, had a very deteriorated exterior: plasters and fixtures were partly absent.

The house was restructured with the largest respect of architectural original characters and constructive details.
An accurate project gives us a high-quality result, which jumps up over the badly designed neighbour.

Here is a view made with POV-Ray.

Some of the most remarkable works:
  • pre-colored external plaster, which reduced a lot the working time because of the un-needed painting, and which is very resistent to abrasion by pedestrian and veichles;
  • re-creation of the south edge of the roof with thin slate;
  • elimination of cables from east facade, putting them into a tube hidden in the wall;
  • recover of some parts of the old stone walls in the shop at ground zero, presently hosting Edil-Decor's administrative office.
